The direct answer

Drainage Services: what matters most?

Drainage failures are rarely solved well by treating the visible puddle alone. We trace where the water begins, how it moves, what capacity exists and where it can lawfully discharge before defining the repair or installation.

Our first survey focuses on the variables that change method, risk and price. The written scope then states the included work, important assumptions and the information or approvals still required.

Typical scope

What we can include

  • Surface-water and foul drainage runs
  • Soakaway installation and replacement
  • Channel drains, gullies and silt control
  • Extension and build-over drainage work
  • Driveway and patio drainage
  • Excavation, pipe bedding and reinstatement

Every site is different. The quotation—not a generic web list—defines the final package.

Devil in the detail

Four issues worth resolving before work starts.

Good planning makes risk visible while there is still time to change the method.

01

Wrong diagnosis

A blocked inlet, failed fall, broken pipe and saturated soakaway can create the same symptom but need different work.

02

Clay & groundwater

Infiltration varies across Surrey. A soakaway must be based on viable ground and safe siting, not a crate count alone.

03

Existing services

Drain routes, water, gas, power and telecoms need to be located and protected before excavation.

04

Future access

Useful access points and silt management make a system maintainable rather than permanently hidden.

How the work progresses

A six-stage route from question to handover.

The exact construction changes; the discipline of resolving information before burying it does not.

  1. 1

    Record symptoms and rain pattern

  2. 2

    Map connected surfaces and outlets

  3. 3

    Inspect routes, levels and access

  4. 4

    Test or survey where needed

  5. 5

    Install the agreed system

  6. 6

    Flow-check, reinstate and hand over

Frequently asked

Drainage Services questions

Clear answers before commitment make the survey, quotation and build easier to compare.

Can you install a soakaway in clay soil?

Sometimes, but only where testing and site constraints support it. Slow infiltration, seasonal groundwater or poor separation may point to another drainage strategy.

Do you repair collapsed drains?

We can excavate, replace and reinstate damaged external drainage. The useful first step is locating the fault accurately so the scope is proportionate.

Can you stop water reaching a garage or doorway?

Often, by correcting falls and intercepting water with channels or drainage before the threshold. The outlet still needs sufficient capacity and a lawful destination.

Do you undertake extension drainage?

Yes, including rerouting, new connections and the groundwork around build-over or diversion designs, subject to the relevant approvals.
